We need

Hello and welcome to our website and my blog page!

As my first entry into the blog world, I want to share with you what and where I feel we are as a people in general.  In my limited experience as a pastor, counselor, person to talk to, and someone to yell at, I have had my eyes open to the fact that we need.  The big question is, what is it that we need? We search for belonging in some of the strangest places; health clubs, social clubs, Facebook groups, and the list goes on and on.
I don't want to sound preachy (but it is who I am and what I do!), but have we ever considered that we have a feeling of needing something because that's how we are designed by God? Do you suppose that God made us this way so we would continue to search for the perfect place to feel "at home"?  There is a place that we can feel like we were made to be there.  It is called "church". I know many people laugh at the thought of going to or being a part of the local assembly and say that it is anything but a church, but it is the place designed by God for you to satisfy that longing feeling of need.
I wonder how many would be satisfied if only we give God the chance to fill the void in our lives with the thing He established and said would last forever, the Church. Have you ever considered taking God up on the challenge He gives in His Word? In Psalms 34:8 God says "O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him." Will you "taste" church and see if it is the thing you have been needing in your life?
