Loving God, Loving People

We have launched a new motto for Refuge, although it is not a new idea.  "Loving God, Loving People" is not just a motto, mission statement, and vision statement, it describes who we are and what we do.  We are commanded by God to "love the Lord with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind" and "love your neighbor as yourself".  The hard part comes by not just saying we love, but showing that we love.  Showing God we love Him is obeying His Word (John 14:15) and by doing good to people (remember Jesus said that if we do to the least of these we do it unto Him).  The Bible teaches that if we love God we should love people (1 John 4:21). 
I want everyone to experience all God has for them.  If we teach people about God and His love for us, hopefully they will fall in love with Him and follow His Word.  We must be about our Father's business and be doing what He has commanded us to do, and that is to go and teach (Matt 28:19).  Jesus came to seek and save those who are lost.  If we are to be Christians (meaning Christ-like) then we must do as He did!
And that happens when we Love God and Love People.
